Coming to McMaster
Less swiping.
More dating.
Something different is coming to McMaster.
You both
love live music and want something real.
How it works
Dating with intention, one week at a time.
- 01
Show interest, quietly.
Send a Spark to anyone you'd like to meet, and save a Blue Flame for someone you really mean. Nobody is told who Sparked them.
- 02
One thoughtful introduction.
Instead of an endless feed, Sumylo introduces you to one person a week when there's a good fit, chosen from the interest people have shown and what you're each looking for.
- 03
Then, actually meet.
Talk, play a quick game, and plan a real date together. Sumylo is built to get you off your phone, not keep you on it.
Sparks and Blue Flames
Say you're interested, without the pressure.
Sparks
Your everyday way to show interest. Spark anyone who catches your eye. It stays private, and it never turns into an awkward instant match.
Blue Flames
Rare by design. A Blue Flame tells Sumylo this is someone you'd really like to meet, and carries more weight when your introduction is chosen.
What we stand for
Fair by design.
No boosts. No paid priority.
Nobody can pay to be shown first. Introductions come from interest and fit, never from spending.
One at a time.
A single introduction a week keeps every connection worth your attention, and theirs.
Made for meaningful connections.
Designed around real conversations and real dates, not endless scrolling.
McMaster students, at launch.
The waitlist is for @mcmaster.ca addresses. When Sumylo opens, you'll confirm your student email to join.
Questions, answered.
When does Sumylo launch?
We're not announcing a date yet. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when Sumylo opens at McMaster.
Who can join?
At launch, Sumylo is for McMaster students aged 18 and over. The waitlist takes @mcmaster.ca addresses. Joining the waitlist isn't a student check; that happens when you create your account in the app.
What are Sparks and Blue Flames?
Two private ways to say you're interested. Sparks are for anyone who catches your eye. Blue Flames are rarer and tell Sumylo someone matters to you more. Both help shape your weekly introduction.
Will I definitely get an introduction every week?
Only when there's someone who's a good fit. We'd rather introduce you to no one than to the wrong person.
Is Sumylo connected to McMaster University?
No. Sumylo is independently operated and is not affiliated with or endorsed by McMaster University.
What happens to my email?
We use it to tell you when Sumylo opens and to send the occasional update. We never sell it. You can leave the waitlist anytime.
Not at McMaster?
We're starting at McMaster. Tell us where you study and we'll let you know if Sumylo comes to your campus. This is a separate list.
